The life and times of a network engineer.
General…..Finally!
I took my General Exam on April 4th, 2009. After passing I got home as soon as I could to begin making contacts on with my newly added “/ag”. I started off about 12pm on 40m with a single ham-stick about 20ft up. I couldn’t find anyone on 40m so I moved up to 20m where I found two gentlemen that could hear me on 14.29khz, N6ECE and KC6SFG. I later found out that these guys are regulars on 20m. It was nice to have my first QSO with N6ECE “Earl”, located in Los Angles California. After this contact I was inspired to create a QSL card… what do you think?

Looks like we got our General around the same time. I got my Tech in Feb. Got General this month earlier. When I was only tech I made a lot of Contacts with contesters on the little piece of 10 meters. I really enjoy the upper bands, my low dipole reaches very far at the higher bands, not so much so due to ground losses on the lower bands. Good luck.
